Even putting it in gaming mode or quiet mode made it throw the ads up pretty much constant. I used to use Avast's paid for versions on all my machines, my parents machines, my housemate's machine and my briefly girlfriend's machines) until they started nagging me for software I didn't need (some for VPNs which opened up when I went to certain websites, which was worrying in itself). I'm just hoping Avast don't do what they've done with their antivirus and kill it with nagware even after you've gone down the paid route. The only product it never offered it on was CCleaner, because the software is supposed to clear crap and not add it. Ages ago, Piriform used to offer Chrome on all their downloads if you didn't have it.
